The pilot ejected from an F-16 of the 138th Fighter Wing, which is reported to have been armed, on takeoff after a fire. The aircraft came to rest gear up on the airfield.

On 21 June the pilot of the F-16 Fighting Falcon crashed on take-off around 10:30 a.m. and was able to safely eject.

The jet was preparing to take off along with another F-16 assigned to the 138th Fighter Wing stationed at Ellington when a fire broke out on board.

The pilot ejected safely and was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to NORAD.
