Applying for Aid & Attendance and Housebound status - they want more details, what do I say?
Posted on
I applied for A&A a while back and recently got a call basically saying I look normal, I have a normal posture for having a grievous back injury, and blah blah I understand your position but we need more details.
I don't know what to say in response. I look normal because all my individual back injuries are fairly minor and only by their powers combined totally fuck up my life? That my keeping my posture 'normal' is one of the few pain mitigation options I have? That every single treatment, medication, and procedure has not worked and my civilian doctors are now considering an implanted ketamine nontheatrical medication pump and titanium bars implanted in my spine to keep my Scheurmann's kyphosis posture in proper gentle S posture instead of an exaggerated S? That my apartment is on the verge of a garbage heap because I can't stand long enough to do any cleaning? What do they want?
I want to die every day. The only way I don't do something is forcing myself to not think of methods of killing myself, and the effect suicide would have on my family. I don't know how much longer I can keep 'looking normal' and warding off the thoughts of suicide.
I don't know what else to do. What do I do now?
