How do Army Rangers stay healthy when their recruits only average about three and a half hours of sleep per night? Just curious.

Recruits in the training program of the U.S. Army Rangers constantly undergo rigorous training. Extended marches in army boots with a 50 lb backpack, 5-mile runs three or four times a week, swimming across fast currents while in full uniform, and training their asses off so that they can perform 80-100 push-ups, 80-100 sit-ups, 15-20 chin-ups, and a 2-mile run in less than 13 minutes.
Yet they only average about three and a half hours of sleep per night.
How do they stay healthy like that? Doesn't the human body need at least 8 hours of sleep every night? Isn't that the general scientific consensus? How long can they go like that with only three and a half hours of sleep per night?
Just curious. I practice tantra often with my wife and have so much energy to help me with my businesses, I'm getting less sleep. Just wondering if I'm okay or if I'll stay okay like those fresh recruits.
How do they stay healthy with only three and a half hours of sleep?
Edit: Also, inventor Nikola Tesla never slept for more than two hours a day and lived to 86. What the fuck.
