Is it wrong to pay tribute to veterans who died outside of conflict on Memorial Day?
Posted on
I like to remember my grandpa on Memorial Day. He served in the Army for 22 years, has a Purple Heart, and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. He was not killed in action and died years after he got out of the Army.
Would it be wrong for me to post a tribute for him today? I know some people like to keep the holiday exclusively for those who were killed in action so that’s why I’m conflicted. I want to celebrate my grandpa but I don’t want to offend anyone in the process.
