Non-combat units under enemy fire?
Posted on
Hello,
I'm looking for an (preferably recent) example of non-combat units that came under enemy fire. It's about the concept of Basic light Ops (BLO). Non-combat units that need to perform task that are normally meant for infantry.
For example, a logistics unit that gets ambushed by enemy soldiers and needs to react and improvise to that attack. Or like the battle of Saipan (1944), where US artillery takes a lot of damage from a Japanese offensive and are forced into a defensive position.
I need to find an example of which I can find a lot of information online (like composition of the unit, reaction to the attack,...). I've been looking for over an hour, but I can't seem to find anything. It's for a presentation. Can someone please help? Thanks a lot!!
