Questions about future of warfare in terms of Air power
Posted on
I first off don’t know much about the air force and I’m just now getting into studying it and aerial warfare tactics in that realm.
In ww2 we had a massive amount of combat planes in use at any time and I believe that was necessary, but only possible because of the ease of cost for planes and lack of technology available at the time.
So my question is this, will the air force be able to replace and/or keep alive its aerial assets like f22 and stealth bombers etc in large enough quantities to stay relative on a modern battlefield against advanced adversaries like Russia or China even? I ask this because of the relatively low cost AND effectiveness of modern anti air options compared to our planes in today’s battlefield. It seems more likely they will only be used for small scale strikes and not large operations like were seen in ww2. I mean thousands of anti air missiles
TLDR: how we gonna quickly make enough of these expensive and highly sophisticated planes to replace the amount of losses we’d have in a large scale war with a powerful modern enemy (Russia or China).
