Replica/Plastic weapons for practice?
Posted on
Our unit just got done with our EIB. I was on detail the entire time and watched candidates perform tasks and yet I still suck. I know the steps fairly well but when it comes to actually performing I go braindead. I have a feeling I will get selected next time and as much as I hate the idea I do genuinely want to earn it (not just because it would be awesome but also so I can just get it done and over with and not have to do it again). I want to get more practice in but I nor my team leader have easy access to weapons/the arms room. And on top a bunch of our weapons are broken and beat tf up. Watching EIB videos don’t really seem to help much either. Then I remembered 3D printing was a thing gave some thought about using fake practice weapons in my barracks during my spare time. I haven’t brought it up to my leadership, but I asked my buddies and they thought it wasn’t practical, they probably misunderstood and thought I meant printing it all as one piece rather than individual pieces. Is this kind of thing allowed, or something similar like air soft guns? Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated!
