[serious] For those who served in Afghanistan, what do you think will happen to the country as Taliban take over and Western troops completely leave?

What is currently happening in Afghanistan is just terrible. I have read that as taliban is taking over the country, people are fleeing, costs to leave the country have skyrocketed, people are sleeping on the streets, women and children are fleeing, main roads are blocked or dangerous to travel etc. American troops are pretty much out of the country, taliban is taking over, government isn’t doing anything. There are talks again in Doha but I don’t think that will lead to anything.
For those who served in Afghanistan, were you expecting this to happen ? If so, why? And what do you actually think will happen to the country? I suspect American troops may go back, but I don’t know much. I am very curious to know.
