Shadowbox Question For A Retired SSG Who Recently Passed Away

My Stepfather recently passed away unexpectedly. He was active duty Army for 6 years and retired through the Army National Guard. I'm making a Memorial Shadowbox for my Mom to include the flag she was given at the service, as well as some ribbons, medals, patches, etc. I also have his Honorable Discharge certificate from the Army, as well as his Retirement certificate from the NG. If I include one of these in the shadowbox, which should it be? Personal preference?
