Soldiers who joined in their late 20's/early 30's?

What's it been like for you?
What age did you join?
What made you decide to join so late in life?
What has combat been like with a more "Mature/grown up/rational/logical" mindset compared to a young and gung-ho one?
What was the hardest part about being "old" in joining, and what was something you think was easier because of your age?
Doesn't matter what branch or country, I'm just curious to hear all of your stories of military life as someone who joined much later in their life. Feel free to add in other points of answers aside from the questions I've listed. They were just a quick thing to get the discussion going.
