Weird question...

Sooo...I have a question, maybe someone with military experience can answer this. I am a janitor at a community college and I clean the science labs. Today, one of the instructors who I've only spoken with once before asks me how my day is going, and my stock answer is "tired" when people ask that since 90% of the time it is true. Then go back to cleaning and she comes up and asks "Hey, are you a vet?" I respond confused, "What like a veterinarian? No." She laughs and says "No, a veteran". So I respond "Definitely not. Quite the opposite" (because I am ideologically opposed to any group that blindly follows orders/kills for government...I don't neccesarily have anything against individuals in the military or any one military faction over the others, just the institutions themselves. Doesn't matter what chunk of rock/government they represent-I didn't say all that, though) and I ask her why she asks because I was wondering if I am projecting some kind of vibe that gives people the impression I've been in the military and she says "Just asking". I have been told long ago by someone who had been in the military that I "stand like someone who weant through bootcamp" (whatever that means...I know they don't allow bad posture, and I have scoliosis). Also, I do shave my head, but so do a lot of non-military people. I can't think of any reason why someone would ask me that. Any ideas?
