Nevada Air Guard helps battle western wildfires

The Nevada ANG will support wildland firefighting operations in several western states. So far this fire year, 85 fires have burned 546,988 acres in 12 states.

Vermont Airmen, Soldiers assist after historic flooding

Floodwaters caused historic and catastrophic devastation throughout Vermont for two days beginning Monday, July 10. Montpelier, Vermont’s capital city, was battered by a record-setting 5.28 inches of rainfall on Monday alone — more than any other day on record. This week, the Vermont National Guard was activated to assess the damage.

New York Air Guard assists search for lost submersible

The wing launched three search missions 900 miles out over the North Atlantic from their base on the eastern tip of Long Island June 19-21 at the request of the U.S. Coast Guard.

Kentucky Air Guard Special Tactics rescue 19 after floods

Airmen from the Kentucky Air National Guard’s 123rd Special Tactics Squadron rescued 19 stranded residents and two dogs in the aftermath of historic flooding that claimed at least 28 lives in Eastern Kentucky.
