Russian Navy will take delivery of new planes and helicopters in 2015

Naval aviation of the Russian Navy in 2015 were armed with new carrier-based fighters MiG-29K, Be-200 amphibious aircraft and upgraded IL-38 and Be-12 and Ka-27PL helicopters, reported military-informant.com.
Russian Ministry of Defense signed a contract for delivery of MiG-29K/KUB aircraft in February 2012. Under this agreement RAC MiG must deliver 20 single-seat MiG-29K jets and four two-seat MiG-29KUB jets to the customer. It was reported in November 2013 that all of the abovementioned aircraft should be delivered to the Russian navy by 2015.
All the deck-based MiG-29K/KUB fighters will be operated by the 279th regiment of Russian navy stationed onboard “Admiral flota Sovetskogo Soyuza N.G. Kuznetsov” (stands for “Fleet Admiral of the Soviet Union N.G. Kuznetsov”) aircraft carrier. At present the regiment is operating 10 heavy deck-based Su-33 fighters and 2 Su-25UTG strike fighters. The Su-33 jets will be taken out of service in 2015. So the new MiG-29K/KUB fighters will replace them.
