Posted by Dylan Malyasov on

The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has announced on 5 September that Enterprise Services LLC is awarded modified contract with a maximum potential value of $787 million for the existing Next Generation Enterprise Network.

According to a statement issued by the DoD, this modification will add a new option period that will extend the potential ordering period by 12 months from Oct. 1, 2018, through Sept. 30, 2019.

The Next Generation Enterprise Networks contract is the follow-on procurement of information technology (IT) services for the Navy and Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI).

NGEN is part of the Navy Enterprise Networks program, which is intended to establish an acquisition approach to provide more flexible and adaptable information technology network services for the entire Department of the Navy. It essentially gives control of the Navy and Marine Corps networks back to the services.

NGEN aims to serve 800,000 users, 400,000 workstations and 2,500 locations in the United States and Japan.

According to the contract notification, modification will add a new option period that will extend the potential ordering period by 12 months from Oct. 1, 2018, through Sept. 30, 2019.
