Ukrainian army hardens using Anti-Terrorist Operation experience

Posted on February 11, 2016

About two hundred contract servicemen undergo individual training using the practical experience gained during Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO)  in Donbass. They learn and work out tactical actions, medical care under fire, etc.

There are women among military accomplishing the same tasks as men.

On Saturday, servicemen will swear a military oath of loyalty to the Ukrainian people. Then, they will start professional training.

ATO zone, or Anti-Terrorist Operation Zone, is a term often used by the media and government of Ukraine to identify territory where the war in Donbass takes place. The abbreviation ATO is also used by OSCE in their reports on the situation in eastern Ukraine during the war in Donbass[ as well as by other foreign institutions in Ukraine.
