HM1’s Power Trip

Backstory:
I was stationed in Bethesda after going from the Navy Reserves to Active Duty. I was assigned to an admin role that I never wanted.
Our department was a mix of Navy, Army, and Civilians. Out LPO was an HM1 who spent most of his career with the Marines and just seemed to be out of place in not only a hospital setting but also admin. I know military is military but the hospital setting was definitely a bit to laid back for him. I having been in the reserves was honestly more of a civilian wearing a uniform each day… we clashed to say the least.
Fast forward, 10 months of us working together I reached a point where being in the same room with him was causing me to have panic attacks. I was moved to another office within the department and everything was going fine.
Unfortunately, had to go back and use my old computer due to having a document I needed on the computer and not my profile document folder. I was trying take care of it as quick as possible and when I left I accidentally left my ID Card in the computer. I didn’t realize that until about 20 minutes later. I retraced where I had gone because when I went back to check the computer it wasn’t there.
After searching everywhere I had been for a good 20-30 mins. I returned to let the civilian I now reported to that I was going to need to get a new ID. The HM1 then proceeded to lecture me about leaving my ID in the computer (something we all had done even though we shouldn’t) and shows me that he had it in his possession the entire time. He asks me if he should give it to me or if he should take it to security for me to retrieve it from them. I ask him to return it to me. (My internal voice was saying “You can do whatever you want with it, if it will make you fell like a better leader.”
I was trying to just get out of there as I seriously wanted to throw punches. I was the second person who left the department because of him in less that year since he got there. One of the coworkers I had actually told our department head that he seemed like he was being vindictive because nothing was ever said to anyone else who left ID’s in the computers. Apparently he was then told not to talk to me and basically ignored the other person who had left the office because he had been just as vindictive with him.
I have only had 2 people who I hoped would not pick up rank and he was one of them. The other is definitely another good story. (All Enlisted members and some Officers hoping you don’t make rank is bad)
Now I am not saying I was a perfect sailor, far from it. I spoke my mind and didn’t think Officers were special. I treated everyone the same regardless of rank. I didn’t give anyone special treatment. I think that having been a reservist for so long gave me a different perspective in the military. We respected rank, but we worked so closely Officer and Enlisted that there wasn’t this big division like Active Duty. I have been out of the Navy for about a year having been separated for offending someone. Imagine Shledon Cooper in the military and you have a mildly good comparison of me.
