lost in the translation

our female company of trainees was finished at one of the ranges on Ft Dix. One of my privates had been a bartender at a bar that also served raw oysters and their motto was "Suck one down!"
this will be explained shortly.
the former bartender was really engrossed with this motto and incorporated it nearly all of her conversations.
as we were waiting on the cattle trucks to pick us up, she headed over to the Puerto Rican girls with a request.
she wanted "suck one down" translated to Espanol, and written on her helmet band. the Puerto Ricans had a long discussion about how to do that.
once it had been completed, the former bartender came to me in tears, saying "all the Puerto Rican girls are laughing at me!"
i called the one with the best English capability over and asked her what the helmet band said,
she explained "well, Drill Sergeant, we weren't sure if "one" was a number or an individual, and weren't sure if down was a direction, so that's what we agreed it should read".
me: ok, private. what's it say?
private: suck me from underneath, Drill Sergeant.
