Happy September! Below are the monthly winners for last month. Please, take a moment to view our drastically simplified subreddit rules posted HERE.
This was a decent month. You got new stories from /u/roman_fyseek and /u/SoThereIwas-NoShit - a rare treat to hear from them. Good to see. I got you a new piece as well. It is so nice to pop out new material. Also, Reddit is getting rid of coins and awards. /r/MilitaryStories has a balance of community coins that come with a month of reddit premium. We are giving everyone who posts in September this award until we run out of coins. Enjoy.
Since Hurricane Idalia has showed up (and is now starting to affect my county) I wanted to get this all up and done before we lose power, even though it is a couple of days early.
Reminder: Reddit coins are going away this month, so we are splurging and giving all three winners a month of reddit premium with our community awards.
All three of our winners this month are great examples of fun little stories that really help make this subreddit what it is. Thanks to you all for writing for us.

Q: How are winners chosen?
A: We look at upvotes, comment history, community awards/reddit awards and throw in a bit of the "arbitrary mods" rule. It isn't completely scientific, but it is close.
