Hello! I am looking for resources to research my great-grandfather's service in WW1. He was in the army, injured in service, and ultimately died a few months after returning home from those injuries. He recieved a purple heart, which we still have, but we know nothing about his actual unit or what injured him. We do also have either his or his son/my grandfathers tag, however they had almost the same name (my grandfather had a middle name, his dad did not), and while the tag doesn't show a middle name, I am not sure if it would. Any databases I could search would be helpful! Thank you for your time :)
