I was talking to my superintendent and I told him I was leaning towards getting out before this upcoming deployment.

Blah, blah, blah… you’re a great troop… keep pushing forward we need you to stay in.

First conversation I have had with him in two years. He goes on about how he feels about the military and then he drops “we are training you to go to WAR! I don’t care about anything else. Sgt Shithead you need to go to training to stay alive when we send you to combat evil.”

I can’t be the only one who finds this extremely disrespectful to those who did/do actually engage in combat with other human beings. My career will never engage in any combat. I would be lucky to have a mortar round land 200 yards away from me. I just thought about all the people in WW1, WW2, Vietnam, Korea, Iraq, etc and it made me so angry… keep yourself in check people and dont be an idiot.

We have people who actually take other people’s lives, and 95 percent of the AF will never bare that burden.
