Hello. I am a nurse going to Eielson AFB in Alaska. This is my first duty station.

I've been trying to get some ideas as to what to expect etc and couldn't really find the answers I'm looking for. I would really appreciate it if yall can help me with these questions.

Has anyone shipped their vehicle to Alaska? How was the process and will the AF pay for shipping?

Is it worth getting a used car there or flat-out shipping your current vehicle?

I see a lot of people saying housing is terrible up there. How long did it take for yall to get housing?
