In this year's Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, 17 U.S. military athletes including 15 active troops, one veteran and a civilian employee of the Navy as well as three alternates and five coaches, have all qualified for Team USA. Their backgrounds are as diverse as the Olympics themselves.
