Son of WWII Pilot Meets the German Who Shot Down His Father

In the early part of 1944, during what was supposed to be an easy mission -- a “milk run” as the pilots say -- Francis “Bud” Peacock and his crew bailed from their B-17 Flying Fortress before it crashed into farmland near Hoerdun, Denmark. Seventy later, Bud’s son met with the German pilot who shot down his father’s bomber, landing him in a POW camp for the remainder of WWII.
