Good morning here from Florida, land of a trillion mosquitoes. August is here, fall is around the corner (in our hemisphere anyway) and I unfortunately go back to work soon.

After some discussion with others, we have decided to allow a couple of things we don't normally allow for this month only. So until the end of August 2022, you may re-post anything you wrote for the Afghanistan discussion last year, even though it would normally violate our two year repost rule. The mod team has specifically asked /u/o8di and some others to re-post for us this month, but anyone who served in OEF is encouraged to share by either writing or participating in the discussion.

Additionally, you may use this Story of the Month post as a general discussion post for OEF and the fall of Afghanistan. Please remember reddit site-wide rules and our Rule 9 (Play nice) rules before engaging. Anniversaries of stuff like this can be rough as we know, so we felt you all might want a place to talk or vent. Here it is.
