The Gibson Flats fire, which ignited just outside Great Falls Dec. 1, was one such event where it only took a spark to start the fire. The fire grew to about 120 acres and was the second response in a week for the Malmstrom Air Force Base Fire Department, the first being an off-base fire on Thanksgiving.
