Are there any rules for civilians wearing Flight Jackets?
Posted on
I know that civilians can use them for fashion purposes. However, what if a pilot gives you an old flight jacket?
Taking off the rank and name tag would be obviously respectful, but what about his unit patches? (such as his Squadron, Wing, and the Air Force Reserve Command patch)
I know that if it was something such as NASA, Blue Angels, or Thunderbirds; no one would care, but I don’t know about specific units.
To me, it just looks cool and the units are from my hometown... but I don’t want to be disrespectful at the same time. I have no intention of committing stolen valor.
It’s just going to be worn with regular clothes, for fashion and because it feels warm.
