Attn POW/MIA Families...I found my MIA brother through Google!
Posted on
My brother has been missing in Vietnam since Nov.1966. I check every year or so to see if someone served with him. Last January 2019, when I googled his name, links to the Library of Congress came up for the first time. Once I went there, I found his case number. When i searched LOC, with his case number, I found they had investigated his crash site 12 YEARS AGO, and recovered some of his personal belongings! No one had contacted my family! I have spent the last year working with the Marine Liaison trying to get the items back, and supposedly this month they will be sent to my older sister. I have waited 54 years for this! Please convey to any MIA/POW family to do a search at the Library of Congress, find their case number and search through that. Evidently JPAC did these searches, and they were forgotten, but recently digitized and sent to the LOC. The current DPAA didn't cross reference them to the families. What a mess! Please spread the word, and maybe some other MIA/POW family can finally have peace.
