Can an employer terminate you for any sort of military leave?
Posted on
Say that an individual whom serves in the national guard/reserves got hired as a police officer and has to attend an academy or any sort of job that requires extensive training. If that employee is needed by their unit to attend a couple weeks of training, can the employer terminate that employee for having to miss training due to military duty? Even if the employer has a very strict attendance policy during training? I know military personnel have USERRA rights, but are there any loopholes that an employer can go around to terminate said employee?
