Do you have an equivilant to the IDF’s “Atuda” program?

I myself am an atudai (someone who is in the atuda). What the atuda is is basically a program where you delay your mandatory military service by enough years to finish a degree, and then in your military service you serve in the field you studied (with the army needing to agree to what and where you choose to study). The army partially pays for your university tuition and gives some additional financial support and once you start your service you immediatly get the rank of a “Professional academic officer (קמ״א)”, which is equivilant to a Lieutenant. In exchange, you need to serve for 3 additional years above the mandatory 2 years and 8 months, but you also get a higher salary while in mandatory service and it gives you easy “first job out of university” expirience in the field.
It’s most common with engineers, doctors, lawyers and other similar degrees. I for example delayed my service for 4.5 years while i got a materials engineering degree and i now serve as a materials engineer.
What do you think of this program? Do you know of any other equivilants in other militaries?
