Here is the real reason no confederate names should be on US military installations...

For those of you who are not familiar with civil war history, the confederates were mostly a group of high ranking West Point graduates who were experienced combat soldiers who turned on their former subordinates and killed hundreds of thousands of them.
Almost the entire confederate leadership was West Point graduates with combat experience, while the Union were mostly supply and engineering officers who had little to no actual combat experience, but had provided support during wars where the confederates had served as US troops.
The Confederates betrayed their own loyal supply and engineering soldiers who had served them during several wars, and those supply and engineering officers were forced to defend the Union from their own former leaders.
The Confederates were not civilian rebels. They were military deserters and traitors who attacked their own men who had done nothing but be loyal to them.
They were not just traitors to their country, but they were traitors to their own fellow soldiers. And people like that have absolutely no business having their names on US military installations.
Its like the CIA naming buildings after Soviet Moles. Its insane.
