How do service members manipulate or re-route stress to positive, effective routes?

I have pretty intense anxiety both social and otherwise, which pisses me off.
Meditation seems to help a bit, but not enough. Typical stuff, I bodybuild, in great shape, watch what I eat, good nutrition, good sleep, etc.
Are there any "mental methods" or destressors common in the military, where the highest stressors exist?
Or is military training sort of just exposure to greater and greater stresses over time?
