Military Travel Inquiry
Posted on
For those of you who travel domestically for the military, I have a couple questions if anyone is open to answering.
A friends partner works for the academy and often travels domestically. He has a new baby at home and has been avoiding being home. Now that travel has picked up, all of his flights home ironically keep getting delayed because he’s on standby.
Prior military myself, I always knew the military to book concrete flights - no standby. I’ve also always known Southwest to be pretty accommodating with military, seating first, willing to adjust flights and putting military personnel on a flight ASAP.
This could have changed in the few years I’ve been out, but I every time this guy travels he’s always delayed by multiple days coming home because the military keeps booking him standby on Southwest.
I don’t want to question him but he hasn’t necessarily been a beacon of military academy personnel, he’s been demoted and constantly avoids going home to his baby only to be found that he’s gone to a bar, etc.
Just trying to see if he’s feeding us all more BS of if his excuse is actually legit
