My husband planned to end his contact in mid August. With everything going on, would it still be a good decision?

We are in San Diego.
I’m not too involved in his work so please excuse me if I’m uncertain about things. I know he’s E6 Navy, has about 8 years in and has been on shore duty for the past 2 years. He’s been taking night classes at a CC for the past year and plans to continue taking his general EDs and major prerequisites to transfer to a university.
I’m going to be an incoming senior at SDSU this fall and will graduate in March. Our plan was for me to work full time after I graduate while he focused on school and finishing his CS degree. He will use the GI bill that we haven’t touched yet. We have no debts and have been trying to save like crazy by being extra frugal. I transferred to SDSU from CC so most of my units from CC have been free and we have just been paying off my SDSU tuition with our savings instead of taking a loan. We have only 25k in savings because I don’t work. No kids, one dog.
But that was our plan and with things being uncertain, and not even positive how the outcome of my field will be after/during this pandemic will be (graphic design). I’m still worried and want to look at other options..
