Saluting in civilian attire
Posted on
Question for y’all. The Navy does not salute if you are in civis. So, when I drive through base in civis, I don’t normally return the gate guard a salute when I’m in civis, but instead say thank you, have a great day. I’ve recently learned this isn’t the case with at least Army, I think also Air Force? Sooo, if you’re Navy and driving onto a joint/army/Air Force base - do you salute anyway? If you’re Army or Air Force, do you know Navy doesn’t salute when not in uniform? I feel uncomfortable saluting in civis but I also don’t want the gate guards on joint/army/Air Force bases so think I’m an ass....
