Soldiers of Reddit: Why do you breach the door like this?

So I was browsing around YouTube today and came across this video. I noticed that the marine on the left side of the door felt around the outside of the door in the doorframe before opening the door for his boys to pile inside. Obviously, yes this is a joke video but this tactic looks like it's pretty realistic and used in your typical breaching maneuvers, can someone explain to me the purpose of that? I'd appreciate it dudes. Thanks!
