Why are guns mounted on a fighters still coaxial?

I mean… in the old days it made sence - it is easy if both aiming and piloting is merged into one act. But in the age in which we can manufacture helmets that can track pilots eyeballs and point a gun in the direction where he is looking… i think it would make sence that pilot could point his gun in certain radius infront of him, rather than steer the entire jet into correct direction.
I know guns are nowdays close to redundant in dogfight, but this feature could be useful in CAS missions…
