Since we were little my friend "Daniel" told me he was going to fly for the Army. Every move and decision throughout his life led him to that goal. He worked hard to become a fixed wing pilot, and then a helicopter pilot on his own, and then joined the military where he completed his training and he's now a Blackhawk pilot for the Army. On paper he's the perfect soldier / leader. He's honest, he's determined, and he doesn't put up with any BS. Unfortunately, it's those qualities that has pushed him to fall out of favor with his superiors. I don't want to get into details but he witnessed some behavior that he contacted the appropriate authorities, and has now been black balled all the way up. He's not allowed to fly, even though he has nothing on his record that should prevent him, he's not getting the hours he needs to progress in his career (such as making pilot in command or becoming an instructor pilot) and not only does he feel like he's stuck and despite contacting the inspector general and lodging complaints he's being met with hostility and stone walls, but he's also trying to "look for any reason or ways to get out of the Army before his contract is up" and that is really making me worry. I can tell his mental health is shot and his self confidence is gone. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated!
