Question - “Im a Marine”?
Posted on
Is there any value/point in saying “Im a Marine”, if you are a POG? It seems that the fascination of the USMC resides largely in its “cult-like” and battle-hardened nature, and when you think of a Marine you probably think: frontline, grunt, door kicker.
NOTE: This is not discrediting non-combat MOS’s - I’m just wondering if the people who announce “I’m a Marine” every chance they get are in an MOS that sees combat, and if they’re not, what matter is it if they’re a Marine if they can do their “military specialty” elsewhere.
I am prepared to get the hatred of everyone in this question, but I’m too curious not to post. I don’t mind, show your bewilderment!
