ROK Marine vs USMC culture
Posted on
Currently in the Republic of Korea Marine Corps. Are there any harassment or hazing in the USMC? I just wanna compare rokmc n usmc culture. (For example: in the ROK Marine, PFCs are not allowed to go to the PX by himself. Or, PFCs are not allowed to listen to the music on their phone until they r corporal.) Something like that....?

I want to change my last name, but I have insurance and benefits through my vet dad. Will I run into any problems by changing my last name?

For personal reasons I would like to change my last name. However I am still on my retired vet father’s insurance, and claim lots of other benefits as a result. If I change my last name, will I have any problems with this? Or will I need to interact with him in some way to get things sorted?
Thanks for the help.

But for a 'Western' craft meeting a 'Western' vessel, the protocol and actions would be much more formal, I assume?

I looked up the dad and he appears to have enlisted in 1943 (I have looked on the gov.usa site and saw his enlistment papers but cannot find any discharge dates.
It is a bit tricky in that if he served until the...
What happens after the end of a training exercise?

I am currently writing the first chapter of a war novel, in which the protagonists return to base after the end of a field training exercise. Typically, what would happen once an exercise is over? Is there usually a debrief of some sort?
